- Winds approximately 180-200 mph
- Width of approximately 1/2 mile
- Two fatalities and 32 injuries
- Continuous damage path on the ground for more than 30 miles
- First EF-4 in the NWS Chicago area in 25 years
- Strongest tornado ever recorded in Ogle and DeKalb Counties (records date to 1950)
- A large sign from the destroyed Grubsteakers restaurant was found in a field 37 miles away
- Two confirmed satellite tornadoes occurred adjacent to and simultaneous with the main tornado
